PowerView Reports has its excellency in implementing cool dashboards of the data coming from SQL Server Analysis Services (OLAP Cubes) in tabular mode, PowerPivot Excel 2010 data , SQL Server Reporting Services Data or OData Services feed. The PowerView Reports has its major add-in for SQL Server 2012 edition. The data model can come from even Big Data Hadoop HDFS or Windows Azure Marketplace OData feed.
Once Hive Tables on HDFS are populated with Big Data it’s possible to render the data from the Hadoop framework to Microsoft BI tools (Excel 2010 PowerPivot tools) & put on SharePoint 2010 as web parts by the help of HiveODBC Connector Tool which is available on Hadoop on Azure portal.
- Lets check the Excel 2010 Data-in after installing Hive ODBC connector & find the Hive Pane. By selecting from Hive Pane , you can populate your Hive Table data onto Excel PowerPivot Table & Chart.
- Lets check some PowerPivot Dashboards on Excel 2010 hosted on SharePoint 2010 as Webparts priliminary in order to build up the PowerView Reports.
- Lets build up the PowerView Reports on SharePoint either by clicking on PowerView report icon beside the powerpivot excel bar .
- Build up the PowerView reports Dashboard from the powerpivot data & render it on SharePoint 2010 Web Part.
